97 billion 10 million in surplus but Current account deficit of more than 29 billion

Kathmandu. As of the end of January of the current financial year, the balance sheet is in surplus by Rs. 97 billion and 10 million. This is seen in the current economic and financial situation of the country published by Nepal Rastra Bank.

According to Rashtra Bank, during the same period of the previous year, the balance sheet was at a loss of Rs. 241 billion 23 million. In the same period of the previous year in US dollars, the balance sheet was in a deficit of 2.2 billion, but in the period under review, it was in a surplus of 73.44 million.

Similarly, during the review period, the current account has a deficit of Rs. 29 billion 47 million. In the same period of the previous year, the current account was in deficit by Rs.352 billion and 16 million. In US dollars, the current account, which was in deficit of 2.95 billion during the same period of the previous year, has been in deficit by 233.33 million during the review period.

According to Rashtra Bank, during the review period, capital transfer decreased by 19.1 percent and remained at Rs.4 billion 43 million, while net foreign direct investment reached Rs.74 million and 94 million. In the same period of the previous year, the capital transfer was Rs. 5 billion 48 million and the net foreign direct investment was Rs. 11 billion 34 million.
