Kathmandu. Dr.Binod Atreya, a prominent figure in Nepal's banking sector, was honored with the Victoria University Alumni Awards - Lifetime Achievement Award 2023. Alumni Awards - Lifetime Achievement Award is given to people who have made significant contributions in various fields after completing their studies from Victoria University in Australia. Out of 23 nominations for the award, Atreya managed to get the first place. He is also the Managing Director of Banking, Finance and Insurance Institute of Nepal (BEFIN).

Under his leadership, Befin is recognized as a leading institution in developing capacity within the financial sector with the support of various financial institutions including commercial banks, development banks and micro-credit institutions. Prior to his role at Befin, he was the Chief Executive Officer at Emerging Nepal Limited. He has also held high-level positions in many companies in the insurance and financial sectors. Atreya, who has accumulated more than 30 years of experience in the banking sector, has focused on banking and finance regulation, corporate planning and financial inclusion while working in Nepal Rastra Bank.
